The petite Versailles of the Dukes of Parma: named as such when in 1697 Bibiena had redesigned the garden of the Palace with arabesque enclosures and parterres to form perspective telescopes, adorning it with statues and fountains. Here lived the beautiful Barbara Sanseverino, a fascinating, intelligent, and highly educated woman, famous for her beauty, so much so that she was honored by the poet Torquato Tasso in a famous sonnet.
